123 Learn Barnyard Friends 1.6

All your children's favourite farm animals have gathered in the barnyard to entertain them for hours on end. Barnyard Friends features two play modes. The explore mode lets your child click on things to hear the sounds they make. The puzzle mode asks your child to identify things by the sound they make. 123 Learn: Puzzle Pals

Kids get to play a guessing game with faces. A child will talk to them, and ask, "Can you guess who I am?" Players start by picking one of the 24 cards. If they pick the wrong card, the child says, "Nope, I'm a girl!" or "I have glasses." Their other distinguishing features are hats, freckles and their colours. The kids are blue, purple, orange, and green! In just a few guesses they should have it narrowed down to one.

Blue's Clues: ABC's - Pre Reading

Blue's ABCs is a game in which
preschoolers try to match the word on the grocery list with the correct food. When the game begins, you'll see a grocery list with three words. One of the words is circled and matches one of the foods on the countertop. You must read the word on the grocery list and click the matching food. When you do this, the food jumps into the shopping cart and Blue dances to the music.

Blue's Clues: Art Appreciation

This latest Blue's Clues game stresses art awareness, imagination, and motor skills. Click your mouse on the various craft items from the left of the canvas they'll stick. Then move them to any spot on the canvas and click your mouse again to set them into place. When you are finished with your work of art, click the Animate button to show it to Blue and see what happens.
 

Blue's Clues: Blue's Birthday

This visual perception game takes your child into the festive world of Blue's Birthday party. There are three scenes to this party, and each one consists of a different activity. The first scene asks you to assist Blue in setting the birthday table, and find the missing items. The second scene requires you to match the present to the giver. The third scene asks you to use your motor skills to "pin the flag on the mailbox."

Learn and practice the basics of writing fractions with Freddie. He starts with a tutorial on how to calculate a fraction - shown as a coloured subset of a set of objects. Then click on the correct fraction (out of 3) that matches the number of coloured objects on the screen. There are 10 problems like this. In a second set of 10, colour the correct number of objects to match a given fraction. The tutorials are in a child's voice and are clear and simple. They can be reviewed. The music and sounds make the modules fun and engaging!

Gumby Colouring Books

Go with Gumby on a gazillion adventures. Well O.K., maybe not that many! But there are sure a lot of colouring books to choose from. Colour with Gumby in space or underwater. Gumby even travels to prehistoric times, joins the army, and becomes a ninja. (With all these adventures how does he make time for his TV show?) Some of these colouring books have a print option. So, either use the machine and colour the 6 pictures with a palette of about 30 colours, or print them out to share with friends!

Hiyah Story Books

Feel like reading a story? Or how about getting a story read to you? You'll love Hiyah Story Books with their colourful pictures and voice that narrates the story for you. This version contains the story of Cinderella but many other stories are available including The Three Little Pigs, Tom Thumb and Thumbelina. This story was fun to listen to and very enjoyable!
 

Homonyms

Sally Squirrel explains homonyms with the example of 'flower' versus 'flour'. Pick the right homonym from a pair to complete 10 sentences, then take the quiz for 10 more.

Larson's Leapfrog Math

Leapfrog Math is a great program that does really simple counting. Your host is two frogs that explain the situation. The situation is that the dishes weren’t put away really great the last time they were put up. It is up to you to find the dish that doesn’t match in the different sections of the cupboard. Once you have found all the odd dishes you must put them back in their right positions.
 

Marble Math Race

This is a 2 player game that reinforces addition and subtraction skills with numbers between 1 and 12. Patch the Dog explains how to play and decides who starts. On each turn a player sees 2 numbers. Remove a marble from the board if it matches either the sum or the difference of the 2 numbers. If there are no matches on the board, skip a turn - an error also loses the turn. The first player to remove all the marbles from their board wins! Play as many times as you like. This hides math drills in a fun game for 2 players!

Ray's Letters and Numbers

This is a colourful, free spelling program for young children. Four modules will have kids spelling numbers, colours, and everyday objects (such as bananas, flower, or fish) or playing an alphabet game. Each word is displayed onscreen as long as you wish, and your child simply needs to copy it. Kids can use the mouse to pick out the letters displayed on the screen or use the keyboard. A short, six-piece jigsaw puzzle is the reward for completing each 10-word section. The alphabet game may be played with the letters in order or mixed up. A child's voice names a letter, and your child needs to find the letter and click on it to win points. High scores are recorded.
The game supports UK or US spelling and upper- or lowercase letters. The interface is colourful, and the enthusiastic child narrator makes it feel like you're playing along with a friend. Ray's Letters and Numbers is a fun game for young spellers.

Secret Phonics

Sally Squirrel asks you to type in the first letters of a set of 4-7 objects, in order to decode a secret word. There are 10 exercises. Sally tells the correct answer after 2 mistakes in a row. There is editable content in Secret Phonics. This gives the ability to customize a new set of secret words. Simply hold the Control or Command key and click on the lesson title. A form appears. Enter as many new secret words as you like. This form also gives the ability to generate a secret phonics worksheet. This is a phonics activity that engages a child's curiosity.

Slide "M" Puzzle

Things are getting a little mixed up. Pick your favourite "M&M's"® image from a choice of six and use the Slide "m" Puzzle to figure out what things are supposed to really look like. Click on the puzzle pieces to slide them to the empty space. Keep sliding the puzzle pieces until the mixed-up picture falls into place. There's a surprise at the end!

Superman Activity Centre

Hidden Profiles - Help Lois Lane unscramble the computer files by hunting down important clues in a word search. Pick level one through three, and tap the small, medium or large Superman symbol for an easy, medium, or tough puzzle! Click and drag the mouse across a word to highlight it.
